Your blood values, on your body

Imagine your periods are heavy or painful, you are always tired and your belly is often full of gas, while your blood results are “fine”. This is how the map we are building would show it.

Example of a woman's body map, from throat to pelvis: the blood glows red, the thyroid and the uterus with the ovaries yellow, the stomach and gut blue, with dashed lines from the blood.
What the lab says
All fine. Every value falls within the lab's limits.
What we see
Ferritin (your iron store) and B12 are both below the Avicenna optimum, and they can hide each other. Low iron makes red blood cells smaller, low B12 makes them larger. Together they can cancel out, so the size of the red blood cells (the MCV, 88) looks normal. One normal value, two below the Avicenna optimum.
What comes first
Have a few extra blood values checked to see where iron and B12 really stand. Check how heavy the monthly blood loss is, because it costs iron. And look with your doctor at how the stomach and gut absorb iron and B12. That is why they light up. The thyroid comes after that.

A simulated example case, not a real person and not a diagnosis. What is to be checked, you discuss with your doctor. This is what we are building: we place your values on your body, show how they connect, and what to have measured first.

Functional Blood Insight

Your trajectory across multiple measurements

One test shows where you stand today. With every new test you see what changes, and your picture becomes more complete.

Example with made-up values: ferritin over three measurements, 52, 84 and 66 ng/mL. The first is below the Avicenna optimum, the second within it, the third below it again.

With each test you see where a value stands against the Avicenna optimum, even when it slips back.

Sample screens with invented values.

A panel of twelve blood values. Per condition different values light up: with iron deficiency ferritin, haemoglobin, MCV and transferrin saturation; with an underactive thyroid TSH, free T4, TPO antibodies and ferritin; with Crohn's disease CRP, calprotectin, albumin, ferritin, vitamin D and zinc.

The same blood values, a different story per condition

Depending on what is going on, different values light up. And you see that a value like ferritin comes back in more than one story.

With iron deficiency we look at the store (ferritin), the blood count (haemoglobin, MCV) and the iron in transit. Ferritin comes back in all three.

What those values say together, and against which optimum we read them, is in your own personal report.

Example: which values the engine reads per condition, not a result of a real person.

From blood to plate: a woman with iron deficiency. Choose a condition to add, and see how the values we read, the plan and a day from the weekly menu shift.
